All submissions to American
Periodicals are evaluated using a blind peer review process. Manuscripts
should conform to the 15th edition of The
Chicago Manual of Style, be double-spaced (including quotations
and notes, which must be properly formatted in Word), and be roughly limited
to 7,500 words. For additional information regarding the journal's house
style, please see the American Periodicals
Style
Sheet. (see also the Council of Editors of Learned Journals guidelines
for authors)
Submissions are accepted
electronically as email attachments (Microsoft Word only) at amper@osu.edu.
If hard copy submission is preferred, please send two hard copies of the
manuscript, along with a self-addressed return envelope and postage (unattached)
for return of the manuscript and report. Only mailed manuscripts that are
accompanied by correct postage will be returned. Electronic submissions will
receive electronic reports. Also, with all submissions, please include a
brief biographical statement specifying academic affiliation and scholarly
activities in the field of periodical studies.
Book reviews must contain
the author's complete name and full publication information for the book
being reviewed (including full title, place of publication, publisher, date
of publication, ISBN, and price of clothbound and paperback, where relevant).
All manuscripts and correspondence
should be addressed to the Editors, American Periodicals, Department of English,
